SPACEPORT IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Spaceport IT Support Specialist for a new role dedicated to providing exceptional technical support for technology systems across residential properties, educational facilities, and vibrant commercial environments, including retail, restaurants, recreation, and hospitality spaces. This position will ensure seamless operation of technologies used by residents, educational staff, and commercial employees. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with a strong foundation in technical support, ready to collaborate closely with the IT Services team, AV team, Networking team and other key stakeholders to support our organization’s diverse and dynamic needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support for systems and devices used by residents, educational staff, and employees in retail, restaurants, recreation, and hospitality spaces, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues through on-site assistance, remote tools, or ticketing systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot a wide range of technologies, including network devices, displays in residences and hospitality spaces, classroom and administrative technologies for educational facilities (e.g., AV systems, printers, laptops), and specialized equipment like point-of-sale (POS) systems and AV technology in retail, restaurants, recreation, and hospitality settings.
  • Support the configuration and management of Wi-Fi networks, IoT devices, and connectivity solutions tailored to the operational needs of residential units, educational facilities, and retail, restaurant, recreation, and hospitality environments.
  • Collaborate closely with the IT Services team, AV team, Networking team and other key stakeholders, such as facilities and operations staff, to resolve technical issues and ensure seamless technology integration across residential, educational, and commercial environments
  • Contribute to creating user-friendly documentation and training materials to enable residents, educational staff, and employees in retail, restaurants, recreation, and hospitality spaces to effectively use their respective technologies.
  • Engage in technology initiatives, such as hardware upgrades, educational tech enhancements, or commercial system integrations, to advance operational objectives.
  • Adapt to a flexible scope of responsibilities, taking on additional duties as the role evolves to support our expanding and diverse operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or a technical role, ideally with exposure to residential, educational, or commercial environments.
  • Experience with Windows, MacOS, iOS, and ChromeOS in an enterprise environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (e.g., Wi-Fi setup, routers, VPNs) and ability to troubleshoot hardware, including computers, smart devices, and commercial systems.
  • Professional experience with audio-visual equipment.
  • Able to work independently while maintaining patience with the constant interruptions.
  • Due to the high visibility of this position, excellent written, verbal and phone communications skills.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically fit enough to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. for duties (i.e. delivering computers, unpacking and rack-mounting equipment).
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed.
