Your mission

We are seeking an experienced Spectrum Engineer to support the design and development of a non-GSO satellite system operating in the Ka-band. This role is crucial in ensuring that our system complies with ITU regulations and other relevant spectrum and satellite licensing requirements This includes

  • Develop regulatory requirements for a non-GSO satellite system operating in Ka-band
  • Guide engineering teams to ensure compliance with ITU and national regulatory frameworks
  • Prepare and review satellite system filings, regulatory documents, and coordination requests
  • Support frequency coordination, spectrum management, and licensing efforts
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies to address compliance challenges
  • Analyze regulations and assess their impact on system design and operations
  • Monitor evolving satellite spectrum policies and contribute to regulatory strategy
  • Participate in studies of standardization bodies, such as ETSI
  • Research and review technical papers to gather business intelligence and assess potential industry impacts

What you bring on the table

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with software tools for spectrum planning and interference analysis
  • Experience in engaging with regulatory bodies such as the FCC, ITU, or national spectrum authorities
  • Experience in satellite system design and operations
  • Knowledge of Ka, Q and V bands frequency allocations, broadband communications, RF theory and non-GSO satellite regulations
  • Strong understanding of satellite payload design, earth station characteristics, ITU Radio Regulations, satellite licensing, and orbital/spectrum resource management
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and communicate regulatory needs effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
