Our Sportsbook Engineering team is seeking a DevOps Team Lead.
The WowThe DevOps Lead manages and guides a team of DevOps Engineers focused on provisioning, automating, and governing infrastructure across all development, testing, and production environments. Working closely with the Platform & Cloud Architect, this leader ensures consistency, security, and adherence to non-functional requirements while enforcing best practices that minimize drift and maintain operational integrity throughout the infrastructure lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, passionate about innovation, and committed to excellence. Acting as a mentor, coach, and leader, they inspire the DevOps team to continually improve their workflows, adopt cutting-edge automation tools, and champion a culture of reliability and scalability. Ultimately, the DevOps Lead promotes a cohesive, high-performing environment where infrastructure is managed with precision, agility, and unwavering quality.
A taster of what you will be involved with:- Team Leadership & Management
- Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing DevOps team, ensuring the right mix of skills, continuous growth, and clear career development paths.
- Establish and maintain efficient team processes, ensuring that daily routines, planning sessions, and reviews are well-defined and continuously optimized.
- Conduct regular 1-on-1s, set performance objectives, provide timely feedback, and handle administrative tasks, including resource and vacation planning.
- Foster open communication, resolve impediments, and serve as the primary point of contact for the team.
- Technical Guidance & Hands-On Involvement
- Split time between leadership and technical work, remaining actively engaged in the DevOps lifecycle through coding, script reviews, POCs, and troubleshooting
- .Oversee infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
- Implement and enforce best practices for infrastructure design, non-functional requirements, and resiliency—ensuring systems are built with high availability and minimal single points of failure.
- Promote cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team to avoid skill silos and maintain operational continuity.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Collaborate with architects and development teams to ensure timely, scalable, and high-quality delivery of infrastructure and environments, supporting rapid development cycles and evolving business needs.
- Coordinate with network, security, operations, and other support teams to ensure on-time delivery and seamless integration of initiatives.
- Serve as a point of contact for Product Owners and Business Stakeholders to provide updates on resource availability, development progress, and strategic execution.
- Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure production environments operate smoothly, proactively mitigating incidents and performing root cause analyses when issues arise.
- Maintain a prioritized technical debt backlog focused on NFRs, addressing gaps in tooling, processes, and infrastructure.
- Continuously refine team standards—enforcing code reviews, monitoring adherence to best practices, and promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
