Databricks is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our fast-growing Accounting team! Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in the full-cycle close process, including preparing and posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and performing analyses to ensure accuracy in our GL. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as FP&A, Tax, AP, and Procurement. You will also support annual audits, internal reporting, and other compliance measures.

The impact you will have:

  • Engage in full cycle general ledger financial close process and related activities to ensure completeness and accuracy in accordance with US GAAP (including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and flux and trend analyses).
  • Areas of accounting focus include: fixed assets, accruals (including vendor, open PO, and cloud), and allocations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand inputs and assumptions that serve as the basis for our GL entries. 
  • Be a strategic team player in driving process improvements and implementing automation tools in efforts to minimize manual steps and mitigate risk of errors.
  • Assist with annual and quarterly financial audits and selections. 
  • Employ foundational knowledge and ask poignant questions when assessing accounting treatment.
  • Synthesize and communicate complex accounting topics to manager and team and take ownership of specific assigned areas.

What we look for:

  • Licensed CPA, with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance is required.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; combined experience in public accounting and in a corporate accounting role.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP.
  • Operational accounting experience in a growing SaaS technology business is preferred.
  • Experience using Netsuite is critical; experience with FloQast and Coupa is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written interactive skills, including collaboration with other teams.
  • Experience and success in a hyper growth environment, where flexibility and a keenness for optimization are key.
  • GSuite and Excel skills (maintaining complex spreadsheets and employing complex formulas).

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Zone 1 Pay Range$90,700—$160,400 USD
