Job Description:

The Senior Accountant, DC Operations provides accurate reporting and analysis to drive strategic decisions. This position is called upon to assist finance leadership and functional area managers with a variety of financial and analytical needs. Given the complexity of the business, strong problem solving and data comprehension skills are required. This is a roll up your sleeves type of role, where you should genuinely enjoy analyzing financial statements, crunching numbers, and doing whatever it takes to ensure that our accounting function runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible

You will ...

• Own assigned month-end close processes, prepare detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and analyses, and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
• Post journal entries related to DC fulfillment and operations (utilities, operating expenses, capital expenditures).
• Build relationships with DC personnel across a network of 10 distinct sites to help create visibility between functions of the business.
• Help to ensure that DC buyers are in compliance with the indirect purchase ordering process.
• Develop a familiarity with contracted vendors, cadence of billings, and indirect expense GL accounts.
• Support and collaborate with the DC operations FP&A team to gain further insight into financial metrics, trends, and process improvements.
• Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to purchase order module non-compliance.
• Devise proposals to improve accounting processes in order to improve controls and ensure scalability as the business grows.
• Provide month over month analyses relating to month-end close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of accrual methodology.

At a minimum, you have...

• BA/BS in Accounting; CPA is desired.
• 3+ years professional accounting experience with a public accounting firm, or mid to large size company (> $100 million revenue); 
• Detailed understanding of month end closing processes, accruals, and thorough US GAAP expertise; IFRS knowledge is a plus;
• Experience with food/manufacturing/ ecommerce industries preferred;
• Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills;
• Familiarity with Oracle is a plus.
