Vimeo AI team is actively seeking a talented and experienced Data Scientist to join our AI applications team. The AI applications team is working as an end to end unit, delivering product solutions from the very beginning of an idea towards the final user experience, where the main expertise is around products that require AI abilities.

You will work alongside a team of passionate engineers and researchers dedicated to transforming the way video is accessed, visualized, and shared. 

What you’ll do:

  • Design and develop advanced AI-based video analysis that incorporates multimodal content (audio, visual, and text), tailored specifically for video applications.
  • Conduct algorithmic research and prototyping, from conceptualizing and evaluating various AI methods to implementing production-ready solutions.
  • Optimize algorithms and solutions for real-time, large-scale inference capabilities, ensuring peak performance and efficiency.
  • Stay ahead of the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and integrate relevant innovations into the development process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to define and prioritize the AI-related product roadmap. Ensure alignment of AI development goals with broader business objectives.

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in machine learning, AI, or related fields.
  • Expertise in natural language processing, deep learning, LLMs and generative models.
  • Familiarity with engineering operation tools, such as Docker, Jenkins, cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Strong programming skills in Python, ability to write and review production-level code and experience with ML/AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar)
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand and work with weakly defined problems, refine definitions and come up with actionable solutions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.

Bonus points (nice skills to have, but not needed):

  • Experience with video analysis.

Targeted Base Salary Range:  $142,200 to $216,500

The base salary range listed above is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area.
