We are looking for a senior demand generation leader who takes a digital-first and data-driven approach to customer engagement. As the Senior Director of Demand Generation, you will lead our growth marketing efforts as we continue to scale and expand globally. Reporting into the VP of Growth Marketing, Operations, & Analytics, this data-informed marketing leader will be asked to create, implement and measure the demand generation strategy and will be responsible for leading our pipeline generation efforts to drive new customer logo growth and customer expansion opportunities.
Responsibilities:- Lead, mentor and scale a high-performing global demand generation team to drive pipeline growth, new customer acquisition, and cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
- Own all digital demand generation channels including SEM, SEO, paid social, webinars, and integrated campaigns.
- Develop best in class strategies to generate demand in multiple market segments including Strategic, Enterprise, Commercial and Mid-Market/General Business.
- Enable a culture of constant testing and optimization to improve channel performance and ROI metrics.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and programs and be accountable for performance in achieving objectives, including impact on lead generation, sales opportunity pipeline, channel economics, and CLTV (customer lifetime value).
- Build customer journey maps per market through collaboration with sales and product marketing. Continuously evaluate the efficiency of touchpoints and their influence on the marketing funnel.
- Align campaigns and programs with product launches, external market trends, competitor insights, and front-line feedback to continually improve results.
- Remain up-to-date on demand generation trends and marketing technologies and ensure the appropriate training and tools are in place to develop best practice within the team.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree a plus)
- 15 years of demand generation/growth marketing experience
- Experience running global digital marketing programs in all channels, geos, and market segments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to productively engage with individual contributors up to executive leadership in generating support for ideas and plans
- A strong leader with attention to detail and dedication to operational excellence, with the ability to deliver against bold growth targets
- Agile and adaptable. You are obsessed with rapid experimentation and are not afraid to fail your way towards success, change course as necessary, measuring the effectiveness of programs with a view to continuously improve and optimize performance and results
- Creative. You possess a knack for inspiring creativity for campaigns, with a bias for action
- A driver. You are able to empower and engage individuals and teams, drive an agenda, and ensure alignment towards agreed upon outcomes, corralling the cross-functional resources needed to be successful
- Inspirational and forward thinking. You can help the team connect the dots between marketing campaigns and corporate objectives / strategy, helping to provide actionable insights and ensure people understand the impact of their individual contributions
- Experience marketing to both IT decision makers/CxOs and developers/practitioners preferred

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.
