Sr. Financial Analyst
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, and enthusiastic Senior Financial Analyst to join our Marketing Finance team in Boston, MA. Combining an understanding of finance and using data to make-and-drive decisions, this candidate will be organized, detailed orientated, and an auditor of our marketing operations through a financial lens. This individual will partner with key decision makers across the marketing organization to provide financial and analytical support, in addition to increasing visibility to causation of performance results. The primary responsibility for this role will be as an innovative marketing finance thought partner who will be involved in evaluating financial investments, partnering to create KPIs for benchmarking performance, developing mechanisms to track and report out on KPIs, and a key team member in both reconciling financials during month-end close and forecast cycles.

What You'll Do:
- Own the build out of mechanisms to support productivity management with our in-house Studio partners. Enhancing visibility to metrics to track performance from creative resourcing to asset production and resulting impacts (i.e., ROI) to Chewy
- Highlight key business drivers and track performance while explaining variances to plan and identifying risks and opportunities
- Ad hoc analysis and deep dives through extraction of data from central databases: SQL, Tableau, and Hyperion
- Partner with finance team members and work cross-functionally with Marketing departments to fully understand the business, its customers, and overall operational decision making and resulting impacts
- Through data and storytelling, influence business partners to drive positive changes in the business
- Effectively manage numerous projects in a fast-paced environment with an ability to work independently to identify and prioritize business needs
- Challenge current processes to find efficiency improvements while maintaining data integrity
- Aid in the reporting and financial performance management frameworks for business partners and help define key metrics and performance indicators to evaluate overall business performance
- Contributor to monthly business reviews in both commentary, context, and insights
- Partner with senior leaders to curate KPIs, discussion of performance, and presentation of results
- Perform modeling and analytics required to synthesize large sets of data and produce concise outputs to convey recommendation and conclusions to leadership
- Takes initiative in leading peers, team members, and business partners to achieve goals
What You'll Need:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting or other relevant degree (i.e., business management)
- 3+ years relevant finance or data analytics experience that supports and drives business decisions
- Experience in Excel modeling, financial analysis, key performance indicators, and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP/Index Match, SUMIFS, pivot tables, etc.) and other visual presentation skills
- Ability to think creatively, self-start, work independently, deal with ambiguity, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize changing workloads
- Experience analyzing large data sets, developing recommendations, and simplifying for presentation
- Takes ownership of projects and drive them through to completion
- Results-oriented mentality
- Strong communication skills – ability to distill and convey complex information messages clearly and succinctly
Bonus:
- Proficiency in SQL
- Marketing, eCommerce, or Operations Finance experience
- Experience with Tableau, Hyperion SmartView, Oracle ERP
