Pinterest is looking for a Sr. Manager, Performance Solutions Engineering within our Performance Solutions team. This role is responsible for managing and inspiring a regional team focused on enabling advertisers to drive success and growth on the Pinterest platform, through the creation and adoption of creative, custom solutions for enterprise advertisers and internal cross-functional counterparts.. The right candidate will be an experienced leader who loves to coach and develop technical individuals, aligning to their strengths, and who will be energetic, and passionate about solving problems with a strategic voice. The Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering will closely partner with cross-functional leadership in product, engineering, and sales. This is a multi-faceted, fast-paced job in a start-up environment so flexibility, an engineering-focused mindset, a strong work ethic, and a good sense of humor are a must.
The Performance Solutions team sits within the Global Sales Strategy (GSS) organization. Performance Solutions delivers through strategic guidance, operational excellence and technical expertise to improve the effectiveness of advertising campaigns resulting in increased client ROI. We work to understand, innovate, and scale cross-functional workflows. We are responsible for measuring process impact, making our business more efficient with consistent execution while embarking on building the next generation of data-driven best practices.
What you will do:
- Directly manage and coach our solutions engineering team to develop internal and external solutions for advertisers, sellers or internal teams to scale impact and productivity
- Lead and inspire a team of full time employees, as well as contractor engineers to deliver results through your team via career, skill and personal development
- Advance the strategy and execution of the Performance Solutions team, partnering with Sales, Product and Engineering to ensure that we continuously improve our products
- Manage and communicate processes and metrics to enable highly transparent, credible and impactful functions
- Partner with operational teams to automate scaled support models
What we are looking for:
- Engineering managers with a proven ability to grow, build, and retain diverse, productive teams
- Technical depth to ensure growth of team members, describe and vet solutions to both peers and non-engineers and manage risk/timelines
- A structured and detail-oriented thinker. You’re as comfortable solving conceptual problems and creating frameworks to refine a team’s thinking as you are getting into the weeds to understand how things work
- Strong communication skills. You can move seamlessly between conversing with engineers or frontline ops employees and lead presentations with senior executives
- Adept at modeling business cases for resource planning and feature improvements
- Entrepreneurial self-starter. You thrive in a fast-moving environment and are independently capable of seeking information, corralling resources, and delivering results without waiting for direction
- Experience with both ads tech and/or measurement solutions at scale a plus
