SR. MANAGER, TAX
The Sr. Manager, Tax will work closely with the Director, Tax in directing all aspects of the company’s domestic and international tax operations including tax planning, compliance/coordination related to federal tax, multi-state income taxes, sales and use tax, property tax, business license, and permits, managing federal and state tax audits, and various other informational reports fillings. The Sr. Manager, Tax will also be responsible for the preparation of the annual tax provision and related memoranda for purposes of tax accounting in accordance with ASC 740.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for providing necessary tax-related information to external tax advisors for federal and multi-state tax returns and preparation of quarterly estimates
- Work with external tax advisors in review and filing of federal and multi-state tax returns
- Responsible for preparation of the annual tax provision and overseeing the maintenance of major tax accounts in accordance with ASC 740, FIN 48, etc.
- Assist in managing all tax-related audits and relationships with external audit and external tax advisors
- Prepare and coordinate responses to notices and processing of refund checks from taxing authorities
- Responsible for multi-state income taxes, sales and use tax, property tax, business license and permits and various other informational reports fillings
- Serve as a main contact for the company’s outside auditors and tax service providers on all tax matters, including compliance, key strategic projects and tax planning initiatives
- Communicate with other business groups to explain tax impacts of business strategies
- Identify and assist in implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance process efficiencies—e.g., tax fixed assets depreciation system
- Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies and initiatives
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, or a business degree
- 5+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting with tax accounting in accordance with ASC 740
- CPA
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prior Big 4 experience
- Expertise in income tax provisions and corporate income taxation, including federal tax and state & local tax; exposure to sales and use tax and other tax related filings
- Ability to interpret and apply technical tax and financial reporting requirements
- Ability to recommend and substantiate tax positions
- Experience dealing with taxing authorities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to work extended hours as necessary
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Sr. Manager, Tax: $160,000.00 - $205,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
