We are looking for a dedicated video lead with agency or in-house video team experience. You will lead the Video Team within the Creative Services, reporting to our Creative Director. You will define and drive our motion/video strategy and lead the development of video packages and animations through ideation, execution, and delivery. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, creative, conceptual leader who is comfortable supervising cross-functional teams and understands our brand strategy and company mission.THIS ROLE IS REQUIRED TO BE IN THE BAY AREA CA

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive video strategy that aligns with the company's goals and brand identity to increase brand awareness and drive traffic.
  • Define our video style and guidelines. Ensure brand guidelines and standards are maintained for consistent branding and messaging across all video creations for all internally or externally produced work.
  • Motion storytelling skills: Lead the video and motion design direction of Elastic’s branding, making recommendations for aesthetics when ambiguity arises. Think creatively to turn complex technical content into engaging video narratives.
  • Strong script-writing experience to provide tips and guidance to internal team members to ensure our videos are engaging and , compelling and align to company goals & overall corporate strategy.
  • Develop multimedia content, including generating storyboards, style frames, and video elements from conceptualization to launch. Oversee the end-to-end production process for a wide range of video projects, from promotional and brand content to product demos, customer testimonials, and event capture.
  • Coach and direct executives and talent with camera presence and storytelling. Work closely with teams in pre-pro, on-set, and post-production environments.
  • Work cross-functionally: Work with the social, digital content, demand gen, external video agencies, and other teams to create compelling video narratives for product launches and releases, events, webinars, social engagement assets, and more to highlight our technology and its impact.
What You Will Bring:
  • 7+ years of experience in video production and creating multimedia content required. You are a Strong team leader who will be an advocate for the video/motion design team.
  • Strong portfolio with examples of videos, social clips, animations, and multimedia assets,
  • Knowledge of studio and on-location lighting and sound techniques. Mastery of color correction, audio correction, formatting, mastering, and compression techniques.
  • Monitor trends and best practices in video creatives and identify opportunities for making the most of new platforms and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to uphold responsiveness and collaboration in a remote environment. You are an organized self-starter with strong communication skills. Being part of a distributed team requires proactive communication and sometimes even oversharing.
  • Prior experience working in the technology industry. You enjoy learning about new technologies and are able to collaborate with Product Marketing Managers, Brand strategists, Content writers, and Engineers.
  • You have mastered all the usual tools, such as professional experience and expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and related tools for storyboarding.

  • Experience working with brand designers.
  • Illustration and animation skills are a plus!

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.
