Sr. Production Scheduler, Starship Heat Shield

SR. PRODUCTION SCHEDULER, STARSHIP HEAT SHIELD
SpaceX's Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket represent a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Starship will be the world's most powerful launch vehicle ever developed, with the ability to carry over 100 metric tons to Earth orbit.
As a member of the Starship Thermal Protection System team you will work with several departments to develop production and execution plans for Starship Heat Shield Tile manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work across all departments to understand critical work requests ahead and behind targets to mitigate schedule impact risks
- Work across all departments to ensure production plans are aligned with MRP dates
- Utilize our ERP application and other applicable tools to ensure work is scheduled and prioritized accurately and efficiently, and resources allocated appropriately
- Prepare daily work schedules, track work progress, update and communicate project critical path schedules, and advise leadership of needed adjustments to daily work activities
- Understand plan execution with operations team to better align bottlenecks and support to operations to improve plan adherence
- Align with engineering and development plans for execution of tests and introduction of new technologies, machines and materials in a very fast pace environment
- Support accuracy of internal logistics movement of critical work.
- Push/pull work into the shop to improve lead times, reduce stagnation, and meet schedule needs
- Utilize production, operations planning, and engineering support to eliminate internal and external blockers to deliver product on time
- Lead efforts to uncover root-cause and develop permanent resolution on issues found during manufacturing ensuring constant feedback to better improve planning effectiveness
- Develop and support efforts to streamline process and control between production and planning
- Work closely with production and production process engineering to ensure connection of the plan with shop floor management, establishing pull system, visual management and other tools to support execution of the plan
- Organize and communicate the daily priorities to production coordinators, team leads and supervisors as required
- Provide daily visibility, weekly status, and monthly reviews on schedule performance
- Create and leverage metrics SQL and Excel to highlight schedule risks and opportunities
- Lead weekly production plan reviews with operations and engineering to understand and address roadblocks to the plans
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of manufacturing scheduling experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or other technical discipline
- Understanding of manufacturing systems, production control, and manufacturing shop floor
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience writing queries with SQL
- PowerBi/Tableau experience creating dashboards and daily reports
- Familiarity with lean principles, Six Sigma and Kaizen, and continuous improvement concepts
- Experience with data analytics
- Experience with problem-solving and root-cause analyzes methodologies
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to travel - up to 25% work week travel may be required
- Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestones
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Production Scheduler/Senior: $110,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
