Sr. Resident Engineer, Software
Luminar Technologies invites applications for the Sr. Resident Engineer, Software role on our team in Gothenburg, Sweden. This position involves leveraging software development, networking, and computer science tools to elevate the deployment and functionality of our lidar sensor and software products.
Responsibilities- Act as the primary technical contact between the customer and Luminar to ensure effective communication.
- Assist in setting up Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments for testing and simulation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute specific firmware/software (FW/SW) test plans.
- Support validation and verification (V&V) processes for customer firmware/software.
- Guide the integration of FW/SW into customer vehicle platforms.
- Offer technical assistance during any SW/FW-related customer interactions.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for diagnosing and troubleshooting faults.
- Engage in resolving issues, reporting bugs, and monitoring issue resolution.
- Prepare and configure sensors locally for customer use.
- Collaborate closely with US-based design and development teams to deliver ongoing support and feedback to customers.
- Support software development activities focusing on maintainability and testability of code targeting an ASIL-B product.
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree in a STEM field is essential.
- At least 5+ years of experience in the automotive integration of hardware and software components.
- Expertise in C++ with 5+ years of industry experience with safety-critical systems.
- Knowledge of and experience working with AUTOSAR C++ and/or MISRA C++ coding guidelines.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns and code optimization techniques.
- Proven capability in delivering production software in Linux and QNX systems.
- Strong experience in developing testable code and crafting automated tests.
- A track record of effective collaboration with global teams and consistently providing customer feedback.
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on and independently.
- Experience with OEM integrations, vehicle integration activities, Ethernet-based automotive protocols, and Vector Tools is desirable.
