Databricks is searching for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager of Technical Revenue, reporting to the Director of Technical Revenue. In this key role, you will be a crucial resource in applying the Company’s technical revenue policy, collaborating closely with business partners and external auditors, and providing timely and insightful communication. You will contribute to the development and execution of global revenue strategy, ensuring adherence to GAAP while being mindful of promoting operational efficiency. Your ability to thrive in ambiguity, analyze complex issues, plan effectively, and collaborate across teams and locations will be essential for your success.
- Actively support our culture principles and leadership essentials in daily execution.
- Support the Director of Technical Revenue in updating key accounting policies to appropriately identify and opine on critical accounting matters and judgments for the Company’s revenue arrangements.
- Develop a thorough understanding of end-to-end order-to-revenue (OTR) processes and associated risks to design and support the implementation of effective internal controls by process owners; prepare and maintain SOX documentation, including process narratives and Risk Control Matrices (RACMs) for OTR cycles.
- Prepare well-supported technical accounting memoranda for financial reporting and compliance, and assist in communication with the Company’s external auditors on revenue-related matters.
- Serve as a trusted business partner to the Order to Revenue Strategy team and other key stakeholders, helping them understand strategic objectives and product roadmaps and timely identify revenue and other accounting considerations for prioritized initiatives.
- Support Revenue Assurance and other stakeholders in the deal cycle to aid in the evaluation of material transaction compliance with revenue policies
- Contribute to the culture and development of a high-performing team that scales with the Company’s growth by prioritizing proactive engagement, consistency in the application of technical guidance, and timely documentation of key accounting determinations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- An active CPA license
- 8+ years of relevant business experience, including 5+ years of accounting experience focused on revenue or related areas, in accordance with a SOX control framework
- Strong business acumen and a solid understanding of ASC 606 Revenue issues and challenges.
- Experience aligning project goals with organizational objectives and managing complexity and evolving priorities.
- A working understanding of consumption-based accounting under ASC 606/IFRS 15 and relevant Software and SaaS topics.
- Practical experience in researching accounting guidance and preparing technical accounting memoranda that address revenue recognition determinations and judgments

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
