As part of Lookout’s Engineering team, you will have an opportunity to take on some of the most interesting challenges in one or more core areas of intellectual property and fundamental building blocks that form Lookout’s category-defining Enterprise products. In order to tackle these challenging problems, you must be open-minded in exploring new areas as well as evolve key existing systems, including our Android mobile platforms, automation and CI/CD tooling.  Responsibilities:

  • Design, estimate, develop, and maintain high-quality, performant, and user-friendly Android SDKs
  • Create and maintain SDK CI/CD pipelines, including gradle files, proguard rules, jenkins files and spinnaker pipelines
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers and other Engineers to bring our product vision to life
  • Helping our customers troubleshoot their SDK integration issues
  • Keep codebase compliant with new Gradle versions and Android SDKs as they are released
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to best practices.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability
  • Conduct unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and actively contribute to building a strong development culture
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android technologies and frameworks (Kotlin, Coroutines, Support libraries etc)
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently and effectively

Requirements:

  • At least 8+ years building & shipping commercial mobile software for the Android platform
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.
  • Previous responsibilities including writing and maintaining SDK products
  • Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin and Java
  • Strong understanding of the Gradle build system and the Android SDK
  • Experience dealing with dependency conflicts and resolution strategies
  • Experience with design patterns and best practices for Android development.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks and a passion for writing clean and maintainable code that is well-tested
  • Proven track record of developing highly scalable designs
  • Stellar communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Good troubleshooting skills including usage of native tools, profilers and debuggers
  • Preference for working in a dynamic startup environment where everyday offers new challenges
  • A strong passion for mobile development and a desire to learn and grow.
  • Experience with network & security protocols including VPN/DNS/TLS
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field

The Canadian base salary range for this full-time position is available below. We offer base + bonus + equity + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in Canadian role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
