You will be part of a new team of applied scientists focused on tuning and optimizing our new product Dash. Every customer interaction is an opportunity to learn better about customer needs and to improve for the next interaction. In this role, you will work with teams from across Dash to understand data flows and different AI services. 

• Create Dash AI Service quality metrics. Build dashboards. Present to leadership in recurring forum. 
• Deep dive on understand changes in metrics
• System tuning (e.g. differing embedding models, different RAG chunking, etc.)
• Generate and publish curated data sets that can be used for supervised model tuning/development. 
• Deliver insights on user usage, AI misses to help inform area of investment - classes of user questions not answered well, clusters of questions that can be routed to smaller/specialized models. 

• Experience shipping and developing data driven AI/ML systems 
• Experience operationally managing AI/ML services day to day - understanding trends and driving improvements
• PhD, or Master's degree and significant applied research experience (or equivalent work experience)
• Experience programming in Python, Java, C++, or related language and with SQL or other related data query languages
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

• Experience with large scale search systems
• Experience building RAG systems
• Experience with LLMs - finetuning, prompt engineering, etc.

Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation.  We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Current Salary/OTE Ranges (Subject to change):• US Zone 1: $210,800 - $248,000 - $285,200.• US Zone 2: $189,700 - $223,200 - $256,700.• US Zone 3: $168,600 - $198,400 - $228,200. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use.
