The Security Compliance team’s mission is to strengthen Okta’s position as the leading Identity-as-a-Service solution through a security-first approach to compliance.  We are looking for someone with a strong technical background to accelerate our compliance growth through automation. We believe the key to building a scalable, highly visible compliance program is through the automation of compliance evidence collection, and we are looking for a compliance automation champion.  The right candidate will have extensive experience operating in a multi-cloud environment and using code to interact with SaaS solutions. The ability to interact with a wide variety of API’s will be critical. As a Staff Compliance Automation Engineer, you will work with engineers, architects, and security professionals throughout the organization to understand how to interact with their technology stack to obtain critical compliance evidence through automation.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the technical implementation of common coding languages such as Python or Golang. Experience generating machine readable outputs through JSON or YAML files and moving them through a secure workflow will be critical. Ability to generate code that can be understood by auditors and a non-programming audience will also be a useful skill. The ideal candidate will also have experience operating in a highly regulated environment subject to external audits such as SOC2, PCI, or FedRAMP. This position requires a unique set of skills including technical coding ability, ability to interpret compliance needs, and desire to operate in a security-first environment.   If you’re a self-starter who wants to make a difference in global cloud security, we want you on board.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with Security Compliance team to identify targets for automation
  • Work with engineers in the business to develop automations for compliance evidence
  • Build automations to collect compliance evidence 
  • Build a repository of audit evidence based on automation
  • Develop and Implement tools to automate evidence collection when feasible
  • Administer Security Compliance GitHub Repository
  • Build automated compliance baseline deviation detections

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 7 Yrs Experience in API/SDK coding, automation, or similar skills
  • Experience automating in a large scale cloud-based environment running AWS, GCP, ect.
  • Proven experience in collaborating across teams to deliver complex horizontal projects
  • Unflappable troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Strong security background
  • Experience in enterprise-grade, highly regulated organization
  • Strong Linux understanding and Experience
  • BS in computer science (or equivalent experience)
