Staff Product Analyst/Statistician (Insights pillar)

The Staff Product Analyst, Product Insights will operate similar to a Statistician, and play a meaningful role in helping create clarity around our product usage trends. The work in the Product Insights pillar will be cross-cutting and focused on developing a deeper understanding of our product and feature utilization on consumption and other core business metrics. This role requires someone with strong analytical, technical, and statistical skills, and who is comfortable partnering with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and across multiple functional areas in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a deep understanding of what types of features and products customers are using across different stages of their MongoDB lifecycle, find pain points, and construct sophisticated statistical models to provide actionable recommendations that improve the customer experience
  • Broaden our view into attribution by product feature via causal inference models, better identifying health (regression detection, connection storms)
  • Surface insights to drive executive decision making across the business, and help define cross-functional concepts like customer journey usage phases
  • Create measurement frameworks to measure the success of each product
  • Conduct deep dive analysis to assess product performance and health
  • Serve as an analytical and technical thought partner to stakeholders across the product, analytics, data science teams
  • Make the team more efficient: Research and implement new tooling/processes; seek out and automate existing costly manual processes
Skills & attributes
  • 6+ years of hands-on analytics experience with for product and / or growth teams, ideally at a software company
  • Experience developing statistical models, causal inference, and supporting experimentation efforts
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical methods, techniques, formulas, and tests, experience developing causal and statistical inference models
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency with either Python or R
  • Deep understanding of SaaS products and demonstrated success of partnering with product teams to conduct a wide range of experiments.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and set priorities with a variety of key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Effective at communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Committed to contributing to a collaborative, enjoyable, and psychologically safe work environment
  • PhD or Masters in Economics, Statistics, or related field

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$112,000—$220,000 USD
