As a Staff Data Engineer, you will be a critical partner to the Global GTM Strategy & Operations teams, providing the data, AI-driven insights, and infrastructure needed to drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. You will design, build, and maintain scalable data models, curated reporting tables, and forecasts that support everyone from senior executives to individual contributors.Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including Engineering, IT, Finance, Marketing, and Legal—you will lead the design and implementation of mission-critical data pipelines and robust infrastructure. You will tackle complex data challenges, from high-throughput ingestion to orchestrating the underlying systems that power AI and advanced analytics. As a technical leader, you will play a crucial role in advancing our data security, governance, and architectural standards, thereby establishing a resilient foundation for automation and enterprise-scale engineering.

The impact you will have:

  • Build: You will engineer scalable data products and high-performance pipelines that serve as the backbone for GTM reporting, AI semantic layer, and business-critical applications. Leveraging the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, you will optimize compute efficiency and data reliability, ensuring that diverse datasets are seamlessly integrated and accessible for thousands of downstream users.
  • Architect: You will own the technical roadmap for our data platform, translating high-level business goals into sophisticated system designs. You will lead the execution of complex engineering initiatives, navigating deep technical trade-offs, managing cross-system dependencies, and mentoring contributors to resolve architectural bottlenecks.
  • Scale: You will drive engineering excellence across the organization, partnering with GTM Strategy and Ops to ensure our data infrastructure is both resilient and future-proof. You will establish the patterns for automation, monitoring, and CI/CD that enable our data ecosystem to grow in tandem with the company’s demands.

What we look for:

  • Experience: You have 8+ years of work experience working as a Data Engineer with B2B sales, marketing, or finance data (GTM experience highly preferred).
  • Technical Fluency: "You are technical and fluent in data". You have advanced knowledge of Python and SQL. You have experience with Github workflows and PySpark knowledge. You can find and troubleshoot root cause data issues with minimal outside guidance or upfront knowledge of the pipeline.
  • Production Excellence: "You have built for scale" and have experience building scalable and productionizable data models.
  • AI Readiness: You are passionate about applying AI and have the ability to structure data models and tables that are optimized for AI readiness.
  • Business Partnership: You thrive in partnership with the business and "understand how the business works". You seek to understand the “why” behind the requests and create innovative solutions for business problems.
  • Collaborative Leadership: You excel in collaborative environments and possess a service-oriented mindset. You are "curious, creative, and kind".

 

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipated utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
