Are you excited about problem-solving and experienced with keeping digital landscapes financially optimised? Trustpilot is seeking an advanced Staff FinOps engineer to join our vibrant team!

The Mission Awaits:

As a Staff FinOps engineer at Trustpilot, you’ll be accountable for optimising the backbone of our digital ecosystem. From launching new projects to conquering challenges, your skills will contribute to the success of our innovative team and pave the way for future efficient innovations.

Your role as a Staff FinOps engineer:

  • Optimise resource allocation and utilisation across various Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based platforms, ensuring maximum efficiency and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse cloud resource usage and implement cost-effective strategies using FinOps best practices.
  • Develop and implement tactical and strategic financial models to forecast and track cloud expenses, providing regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Engineering and IT teams to align financial goals with technical decisions and ensure cost considerations are integrated into the development process.
  • Implement and develop cost allocation strategies to attribute expenses accurately across departments and projects.
  • Build cost-aware CI/CD pipelines for deployments, integrating cost checks and optimisation gates.
  • Configure cloud provider native cost controls (AWS Budgets, GCP Quotas) and leverage advanced cost anomaly detection tools.
  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards and reports for cloud spend with AWS Cost Explorer and GCP Billing.
  • Utilise cost allocation and chargeback models to drive cost ownership and accountability across engineering teams.
  • Perform cloud resource tagging and cost categorisation for granular cost analysis and optimisation opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate cloud usage patterns, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Automate SaaS spend alerts and notifications to prevent cost overruns and promote responsible tool utilisation.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve and refine FinOps processes.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • In-depth expertise in public cloud (AWS, GCP).
  • Proficiency with automation and scripting in languages like Python, CloudFormation, Terraform, or your language of choice.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SaaS cost management best practices and relevant tools.
  • Ability to work individually and drive initiatives with minimal oversight.
  • Great stakeholder management, communication and teamwork skills.
