About the job

The position is required to enable us to take the Twilio User experience of Voice product to the next level through the implementation of modern Web experience through our Console and Applications. The experiences you build will be relied upon by Twilio's largest customers on a daily basis, and you will continually expand and refine the experience to meet customers' changing needs.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex frontend projects development for Twilio's Voice and Console platforms, focusing on scalability, performance, and user experience.
  • Architect and implement complex features and functionalities using advanced frontend technologies like React, Nodejs, Nestjs, Cypress, … .
  • Mentor and guide junior developers in best practices, coding standards, and architectural design.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality and engaging user interfaces.
  • Continuously refine and enhance the Voice and Voice Intelligence products to meet evolving user needs and industry trends.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry advancements to drive innovation within the team.
  • Continuously refine and optimize the Voice and Voice Intelligence products to align with evolving user requirements and industry trends.

Required:

  • 7+ years of proven experience in frontend development, specializing in web applications.
  • 7+ years of Javascript experience, including concepts like asynchronous programming, closures, types and ES6. 
  • 7+ years experience in building UI products using frontend frameworks and web components. Ideally significant experience with following technologies React, TypeScript, Redux. 
  • 7+ years of HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility. 
  • Proven experience in architecting and building complex, scalable web applications with an emphasis on frontend architecture.
  • Experience with REST API design and services development using NodeJS, specially developing reverse proxies. 
  • Experience with large systems and complex code bases as well as source code control systems such as Github.
  • Exposure to instrumentation to track user behavior such as Heapanalytics or datadog,  
  • Experience producing unit and automated tests using tools such as jest, cypress.
  • Experience on building/setting CI/CD pipelines/processes using tools such as Buildkite.
  • Strong understanding and expertise on UX - you should be able to relate to UX patterns and how best to build them. 
  • You have strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills in person, on paper or in code. You can explain technical concepts to product managers, fellow engineers and support. 
  • Experience on working with asynchronous communication on a multidisciplinary and international team.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing stakeholders effectively, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, communicate clearly and persuasively, and align diverse perspectives to achieve project goals and organizational objectives. 
  • You are curious, collaborative, humble and are a Doer.  

Desired:

  • Demonstrated experience working with Twilio's Voice and Console platform is highly desired.
  Location

This role will be remote in the US but is not eligible to be hired in the states of California, Connecticut, Pensilvania, New York, New Jersey Washington State.

Travel

We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.

  • Based in Colorado or Washington D.C. : $135,920.00 - $169,900.00 USD 
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $143,920.000 - $179,900USD.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $159,900.00- $199,900.00 USD.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
