At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To do this, we start with our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization.

The Product Management team works closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch, and with our business partners to generate profitable revenue streams. You will be responsible for bringing exceptional strategic and analytical skills to define our strategy and lead our execution in this highly cross-functional technological area. Through your leadership, you’ll bridge technical, business, and operations worlds as you design technologies with creative and prolific engineers, leverage your technical expertise to identify setbacks and roadblocks within a project and generate solutions for resolving them quickly. You will have a bias for action to break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at Lyft speed.

Lyft’s Mapping organization has built a one-of-a-kind rideshare-centric mapping product that supports every aspect of the user’s ride experience: from searching for the destination to navigating to the drop-off point. Within the Mapping group, we have various teams: ETA, Routes, MapData, PlacesData, Tooling Platform, and Lyft Maps Experiences. Lyft ETAs are central to the Lyft marketplace and impact how riders and drivers experience Lyft in many ways: estimating ETAs, the cost of fulfillment, optimizing driver-rider matches, rider offer and driver pay. The ETA and Routes team is responsible for providing accurate ETAs to a variety of customers to balance drivers’ expectations, riders’ expectations and Lyft’s objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Discover and define the product & technical landscape involving ETAs and Routes, and their impact on customers- both internal (Marketplace) and external (Riders, Drivers & Partners)
  • Provide product leadership and direction by crafting short-term and long term product strategy catering to all its use-cases
  • Work with a variety of Lyft teams (primarily in Mapping and Marketplace), leading prioritization and alignment on Lyft ETAs roadmap, and scope out infrastructure and services needed to support our partners
  • Ideate impactful projects, then break them down into MVP and further milestones to test and develop the hypothesis through fast experimentation, pivoting when the data hints
  • Write product requirements documents and review experiment design docs and technical specifications for strategic projects
Experience:
  • 6+ years of product management experience
  • Experience managing Operations Research/ML/algorithmic products across any domain
  • Natural ability to make things happen around them. They manage project ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized and structured way
  • Have shipped products in deeply technical & analytical domains - able to use data and experimentation to guide a large cross-functional team towards a long-term vision
  • Be detail-oriented and able to dive deep into complex technical concepts, but also abstract them to executive stakeholders
  • Maintain a strong POV on what to build for our customers, amidst many different stakeholders with different goals and world-class scientists + engineers on the team
  • Strong communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users; and to the company leadership
  • Ability to conceptualize, manage and prioritize multiple projects for stakeholders
Benefits:
  • Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Mental health benefits
  • Family building benefits
  • In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have unlimited paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
