The CIC Engineering Productivity team’s mission is to make the life of Okta CIC’s Engineers easier and more productive. We do this by providing tools, frameworks, and abstractions that remove productivity bottlenecks and promote modern development practices. 

We are looking for software engineers to design and implement tools and services that have a positive impact into our engineering productivity: including but not limited to: tools to support good development practices, and instrument our existing tools and pipelines to understand the impact of our products in the engineering experience and research market.

You will:

  • Join a cohesive team of engineers that own our tools and services end-to-end.
  • Lead a team of 4 mid level and senior engineers to develop and maintain productivity tooling.
  • Design and build solutions that integrates with our team day-to-day workflow and current tooling.
  • Help define engineering wide standards and drive adoption across our stack.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and teams to develop new features, improvements and fixes in new and existing Services, Cron Jobs and CLIs
  • Help other CIC Engineers to work efficiently with our Platform.
  • Evangelize CIC Engineers about our new tools offering

You are a good fit if you:

  • You have 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Comfortable leading a team of mid and senior engineers
  • Are passionate about the development lifecycle of other engineers and their pain points.
  • Experience designing APIs and tools, estimate execution, and identify risks for delivery
  • Have experience using Golang or Nodejs to build server-side applications, APIs, and client-side tooling.
  • Pay attention to details and keep user experience a top priority.
  • Have excellent communication skills and enjoy being part of a highly collaborative, remote first environment
  • Have experience working with Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Have experience with container technology such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, etc.

It is helpful, but not required if you:

  • Have experience working with Customer Identity Access Management solutions.
  • Have experience working on engineering productivity metrics.

This role is remote, however; due to the timezone distribution of the team we have a strong preference for EST timezone

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:$114,000—$172,000 CAD
