At Okta, we celebrate a variety of perspectives and experiences. We are not looking for someone who checks every single box - we’re looking for lifelong learners and people who can make us better with their unique experiences. Join our team! We’re building a world where Identity belongs to you.
The Product
Okta’s Customer Identity Cloud (CIC), powered by Auth0 technology, is an easy-to-implement authentication and authorization platform designed by developers for developers. We make access to applications safe, secure, and seamless for the more than 100 million daily logins around the world. Our modern approach to identity enables this Tier-Ø global service to deliver convenience, privacy, and security so customers can focus on innovation.
The Team
The Financial Grade Identity (FGI) team is expanding Auth0 to make securing and managing access to some of the most critical infrastructure seamless. Implementing cutting edge security, authentication and authorization standards, we are expanding and hardening Auth0 to allow customers in highly regulated industries such as finance and healthcare to seamlessly authenticate and authorize their operations, and provide and track consent. Our work is challenging, cross-cutting and both customer and standards driven.
We work in NodeJS (JavaScript and TypeScript) and use PostgreSQL and Redis for our data needs. Our services run on AWS and Azure and we lean heavily on containers for both our development and production needs.
If you like taking hard problems at scale and making them simpler and enjoy solving both customer and technical challenges we can’t wait to talk to you.
What you’ll be doing
- Collaborate with engineers both inside and outside the team to design and deliver powerful new functionality that allows our SaaS customers to empower their customers to configure and manage the users, login and permissions themselves.
- Support the team as a technical expert, ensuring the solutions built are robust, scalable and reliable.
- Tackle the most complex pieces of work and create proof of concepts when breaking new ground.
- Drive technical improvements to our codebase and architecture.
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers on sound engineering practices. Lead by example.
- Review customer interview feedback with Product.
What you’ll bring to the role
- You have excellent knowledge of Node.js (JavaScript or Typescript) and creating and maintaining public APIs.
- You have worked on both full-stack apps and backend services in the past, and feel confident driving best practices on both of them. A good part of our work is on the frontend.
- You drive the creation of systems that are highly-reliable, maintainable and scalable.
- You create good engineering and testing practices, and love to share them.
- You are passionate about delighting developers and end-users.
