Pinterest’s Data Privacy Engineering team builds access control, auditing, and data handling services and solutions in use across Pinterests’s tech stack. We’re looking for a Staff-level engineer with a proven track record of turning ambiguous challenges into functional, scalable, solutions to join our Dublin-based team and help us drive our next-generation capabilities and strategy. You’ll help grow and expand our high-performance, high-scale services which are critical components of most of Pinterest’s major systems in partnership with industry-leading talent across our stack, while mentoring a wide diversity of engineers.
What you’ll do:
- Dive deep into our Data Engineer platforms, contribute to their code and become an expert resource in a wide range of systems and development patterns
- Field open-ended feature and help requests, design review requests, and tough problems from engineers throughout Pinterest
- Match requests to technology and process solutions and identify technology gaps and issues
- Design solutions that address problems at both current and future scale
- Drive the evolution of our company-wide strategies
- Communicate tactical and strategic vision, and drive execution across all Pinterest’s engineering teams
What we’re looking for:
- Top-tier coding ability in at least one major programming language, and the interest and ability to learn more quickly
- The ability to quickly move across tech stacks to commit and review code changes
- Expertise in the use of logging for auditing and remote systems debugging, and strong debugging skills
- Proven track-record of delivering highly reliable technical solutions that scale
- Experience with, and and ability to apply, design and architecture solutions patterns patterns across frontend, backend, and storage stacks
- Some experience with SQL or SQL-like systems and big-data systems experience are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience
