By plugging into the open source community - its release, roadmap and operational processes, you will help shape and drive new Apache Superset improvements and features and ensure they scale for Airbnb’s user base.
- Collaborate with other data platform teams to build integrations of our data tools (like Superset) with Airbnb's data platform’s ecosystem, like the metric infrastructure which enables metric consistency at scale, data management platform which enables data discovery and data management, data warehouse infrastructure and services, and more.
- Continue to hold high quality bar for our data tools, to ensure high stability and reliability for Airbnb’s data practitioners.
- Support and build internal data tools beyond Superset.
A Typical Day:
- You will split your time between internal projects specifically focusing on integrations of Superset within the Data Platform’s ecosystem, and open source contributions to Apache Superset project.

- Collaborate with teams within Airbnb’s data platform on integrations of Superset within the data platform’s infrastructure.
- Build new features to support our users' workflows, either within Apache Superset Open source or our internal deployment and customization of the tool.
- Engage with Airbnb’s Superset users - we expect all engineers to be able to drive projects end to end, gather user feedback or collaborate with product managers, create and manage feature roll out plans and migrations.
- Contribute to maintaining a high technical quality bar by identifying quality or architecture improvements projects, improving testability, reviewing other’s code and technical designs.
