Staff Technical Trainer

The Staff Technical Trainer at Databricks will be a member of the Learning and Enablement organization. This role is integral to enhancing the technical skills and knowledge of the Databricks community, which includes internal teams, partners, and customers. The Staff Technical Trainer will primarily manage the delivery of technical training programs that align with our objectives and strategies. As a Staff Technical Trainer you will create engaging and effective learning experiences catering to various learning styles and levels of technical expertise.

This role involves facilitating both virtual and in-person training sessions and potentially traveling to different locations to conduct training. The trainer will also play a pivotal role in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs, providing feedback for improvement, and staying updated with the latest Databricks products and industry trends to ensure the curriculum remains relevant. Additionally, you will deliver internal sales enablement training targeted at newly hired Bricksters in the Field Engineering organization.

The impact you will have:

  • Deliver comprehensive technical training programs related to Databricks' products and services.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand training needs 
  • Create tailored training programs to meet those needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs through feedback surveys, assessments, and observations, and revise the curriculum as needed.
  • Significant time will be spent learning new training programs and staying current on the latest updates from Databricks and the industry.
  • Provide guidance and support to learners during the training process and handle any queries or issues that arise.
  • Contribute to the development of self-paced online learning modules and other training resources.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives to expand the Learning and Enablement product portfolio.
  • Audit operational aspects like the day-to-day administration of training programs, including scheduling, coordinating resources, and managing participant enrollment.
  • Active participation in curation of training resources, such as manuals, guides, and online tutorials.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to candidates Databricks Certified Instructors 
  • Organization and lead train-the-trainer sessions to scale your expertise

What we look for:

  • Proficiency with Databricks' products, platform, and tools.
  • Excellent delivering training and educating, characterized by high empathy and clarity in speech.
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as Python and SQL
  • Knowledge of data engineering and data science concepts, including machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A passion for learning and development, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
  • Experience with pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture and/or sales enablement

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a focus on Machine Learning, or AI (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related role, such as technical training or technical roles in data engineering, data science, solutions architect, pre-sales engineering, or software development.
  • Databricks Data Engineer Associate OR Databricks Machine Learning Associate certification

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Zone 1 Pay Range$123,400—$218,300 USD
