As a Staff Technology Program Manager, you are in a highly visible position within the organization – partnering with Engineering, Product, and Design to drive and deliver key communications, programs, and highly engaging events that power innovation and strengthen organizational alignment. You will be a key owner in shaping the culture and brand of the organization through strategic communication initiatives such as internal and external communication assets. You will also be a key contributor for our annual kickoff, Hackathon, and org wide programs. This role requires a balance of both high-level strategic planning and detailed oriented execution and stakeholder management.

The qualified candidate will not only be an expert communicator, but also have strong TPM experience in a Technology/SaaS environment. You’re an individual who is self-motivated and driven, can thrive in a fast paced setting, and has a demonstrated commitment to take accountability, lead execution and successful delivery of large horizontal initiatives with ambiguity and competing priorities.

Duties:

  • Lead Organizational communications
    • Define and lead a communication strategy that aligns the organization, elevates our brand awareness, and ensures consistent messaging from leadership
    • Create a unified vision for all communication channels to the organization (Newsletters, podcasts, emails, internal websites) so everyone has access to the right information at the right time in the right place
    • Serve as the focal point for all communication assets internally and externally to the organization. Author org-wide written communications that match the clarity and conciseness of Okta’s guideline and style
  • Partner with the team to deliver events and collateral that drive alignment and enable successful business outcomes
    • Coreteam member for annual Kickoff event for a global audience. Determine theme, key messaging, format, session content, speakers, engagement, and production support for the entire event
    • Key contributor for org wide meetings, forums, and activities such as quarterly all hands, FixIt days, teaming events
    • Contribute to delivery of existing collateral such as podcasts, newsletters that help inform the broader organization on priorities and updates. Be a creative thought leader and propose improvements and ways of delivering content that increases engagement and business impact. Lead end to end creation, alignment and execution on events or improvements, continue to track OKRs and propose improvements.
  • Work with the team and organization leaders to propose new strategies and channels of engagement that provide a better experience (ie. onboarding, best practices), and increase the Technology brand awareness internally and externally (ie. blogs, speaking engagements)

Skills:

  • 7+ years of program management or communications experience at a technology company in a horizontal capacity – working closely with organizational leaders, engineers, designers, product managers, and TPMs
  • Strong and articulate communicator, working with and managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders, incorporating various viewpoints and data sources to create a cohesive and compelling narrative in communication assets and program messaging
  • Significant Experience in creation of a project plan, stakeholder management, leading meetings, and regular communication of progress.
  • Coordinate with management and technical teams to ensure smooth delivery of organizational events
  • Strong problem solving, influencing, and negotiation skills. Proactive self starter. Outcome driven
  • Experience with project management and productivity tools such as G Suite or JIRA/Confluence as examples. 

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in audio visual production, tools, and technology a plus

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$142,000—$212,000 USD The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between: $158,000—$238,000 USD
