As a Staff/Principal Data Analyst supporting the Finance, Legal, and Strategy (FLS) team at Personio, you play a pivotal role in transforming data into strategic insights, shaping our company’s financial strategy. In this role, you're not just analyzing numbers; you're driving critical business decisions and influencing long-term strategies. Your insights directly impact our financial health and strategic direction, making your contribution vital to our mission of sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

  • Strategic Business Partnership: Act as a primary data strategist for the organization, partnering with top executives. Regularly consult with the CFO and other executives, providing data-driven guidance on major strategic initiatives and long-term planning.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret diverse datasets, focusing on financial performance, legal trends, and strategic initiatives to guide FLS in making informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Dashboard Development: Create and strategize the evolution of real-time, interactive dashboards for stakeholders, ensuring they are user-friendly and aligned with the evolving needs of the business.
  • Business Reviews and Insight Generation: Oversee the insight generation process for business reviews at a company-wide level, guiding analysts in different departments to highlight crucial insights and trends.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership and peers in developing business strategies grounded in data insights, aimed at growth, operational optimization, and cost reduction.
  • Stakeholder Management: Lead multiple projects simultaneously, managing expectations and collaborating with the data team for internal consistency, scalability, and reliability of data practices.
  • Proactive Team Embedding: Act as a strategic data partner for multiple teams, guiding them in aligning their objectives with data insights. Lead initiatives to use data in solving complex business challenges.

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • Education & Experience: A quantitative degree (e.g., Applied Math, Econ, Stats, Eng, CS) paired with a minimum of 7 years of data analytics experience, in a SaaS, Subscription, or B2B environment with a focus on Finance, Legal, and Strategy. Experience working with executive-level stakeholders (CFO, CEO, …).
  • Deep understanding of SaaS-specific financial processes and financial systems like Salesforce, Chargebee, Adaptive.
  • KPI and Dashboard Expertise: Strong understanding of financial and strategic KPIs and proficient in creating scalable dashboards that effectively translate business requirements into impactful visuals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in SQL and BI/Visualization tools like Tableau, facilitating data extraction, manipulation, and presentation.
  • Statistical Knowledge: Master the use of cutting-edge statistical methods and tools, providing strategic guidance and recommendations based on sophisticated data analysis.
  • Analytical Mindset: Intellectual curiosity to delve deep into data, identifying underlying trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to articulate complex data observations in simple terms, ensuring clarity and understanding among stakeholders. Master the art of storytelling with data, driving organizational change and strategy through powerful presentations and reports.
  • Entrepreneurial Approach: A proactive problem-solver, focused on generating impactful results and identifying opportunities for improvement through data-driven insights.
