OVERVIEW & JOB DESCRIPTION 

Stock Associates contribute to the success of Birch Lane by inspiring customers to embrace our Classic Style for Joyful Living. WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Provide an authentic, friendly customer experience that exemplifies our Wayfair commitment to relentless customer focus. 
  • Manage, maintain, and monitor stock levels, receive and process merchandise, and ensure items are properly stored, and easily located for replenishment on the sales floor. 
  • Support visual merchandising tasks such as maintaining the store’s visual standards, floorset, window changes, signage placement, lighting installations, basic electrical wiring, wallpapering, etc., as needed. 
  • Safely unloading and organizing incoming and outgoing freight as needed. 
  • Maintaining backroom standards including ticketing as needed. 
  • Assist with Visual adjacencies and presentations as needed. 
  • Ensure the store meets visual, replenishment, cleanliness, safety, and back-of-house standards.
  • Assist customers on the sales floor as needed. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

  • 1+ years of retail experience; preferably in the home or furnishing space. Interior design, furniture, or  home goods experience preferred. 
  • An ability to read, interpret, and execute a floorset; Experience in visual merchandising (lighting  installs, wallpapering, furniture assembly, preferred. 
  • Basic electrical wiring experience preferred. 
  • Passion for great customer service, operational excellence, and efficiency to meet company goals.
  • Track record of thriving in a fast-paced and changing environment. 
  • Strong organization, self-motivation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • An ability to handle customer escalations and demonstrate professional maturity. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and  hear. The employee frequently is required to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The  employee is occasionally required to sit; regularly climb or balance; and frequently stoop, kneel,  crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly, frequently, or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50  lbs. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Ability to ascend/descend a ladder (minimum 10ft) 
  • Ability to use a variety of hand-held tools,(such as, but not limited to, wire cutter, wire strippers, screwdrivers, hammer, leveler, drill). 
  • Ability to use basic electrical wiring, associated with lighting installation.
