What you’ll do:

  • As an authentic brand ambassador for the Wayfair family, lead and create a best in class customer experience by connecting them with the world's biggest and best home online assortment brought to life in our stores.
  • Master our brand story and be able to share our brand with polished communication, personal appearance and professionalism.
  • Capable of effectively handling impromptu visitation from the press, investors or other key stakeholders
  • Provide leadership to the team and meet or exceed budgeted sales, payroll, and controllable expense goals.
  • Maintain leadership presence through effective floor management and resource allocation.
  • Ignite an on-brand design space utilizing all of our design and omni-channel tools and services to bring our customer’s design aspirations to life.
  • Guide customers through their questions on product features and functionality, style and product coordination, and cutting requests, including in-store assortment and endless aisle.
  • Amplify the Wayfair brand family by building a high performing customer centric team, and actively introducing them to all channels - online, app and stores..
  • Motivate and train all associates in sales, customer service, operations, and product knowledge, utilizing all resources.
  • Lead the use of utilization design tools, CRM software and client accounts for consistent customer experience and record keeping.  
  • Foster and instill a culture of accountability and continuous feedback to promote a profitable, positive, and dynamic environment.
  • Consistently recruit, hire, and retain a salesforce that delights and inspires our customers while driving sales and providing design advice.
  • Identify talents and develop skills within the team to enable succession planning
  • Build a talent pipeline, both internal and external, to deliver budgeted sales and best in class customer experience
  • Perform opening and closing routines and provide supervision to ensure the store is meeting financial goals and associates are providing best in class service to our customers. 
  • Effectively manage store operations, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and maintain visual merchandising standards
  • Utilize sales analytics tools to drive store profitability and growth in a way that supports the success of the overall brand.
  • Develop, lead, and deliver a long-term sustainable plan for growth, visitation and profitability in the market.
  • Lead a team to always use good judgment by demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, security, and compliance.
  • Champion and campaign for a resolution oriented environment for your team.
  • Identify and share opportunities to innovate, improve, and simplify processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Know and assess the competition and retail evolution by leveraging insights and feedback to deliver results.
  • Live by, emulate, and guide by our People Principles daily. 

What you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of management experience in a specialty retail and/or multi-unit retail business environment.  Interior design, furniture or home goods experience preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate, influence and inspire yourself and others.
  • Track record of thriving in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Technical acumen to learn necessary software; experience with Google Cloud G Suite, including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms preferred.
  • Ability to process information and merchandise through a computer system and POS register system. 
  • Full time associates may need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; regularly climb or balance; and frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly, frequently or occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
