The community you will join:

Airbnb is seeking postgraduate students to join our Finance organization as Strategic Finance & Analytics Interns for a paid internship lasting 6-12 months.

The Finance organization at Airbnb consists of distinct groups working on a diverse array of initiatives such as long-term strategic and financial planning, capital raising, financial and tax reporting, supplier management, construction of our office spaces, and more. 

Our Strategic Finance & Analytics (SFA) team provide strategic planning, budgeting, reporting, and analytical decision-making support to cross-functional (ie. Hosting) and functional (ie. Legal) teams across Airbnb. As an intern, you’ll be part of the international finance team. The team covers key international markets ranging from mature to new. The team is focused in helping the business teams drive growth and street the business.

As an intern, you’ll get first-hand experience on what it is like to be a Strategic Finance & Analytics Partner at Airbnb. You’ll have the opportunity to: 

  • Analyze complex business problems and issues using data to provide insight to decision-makers
  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns based on business data and market knowledge
  • Construct and present forecasts, recommendations, and strategic/tactical plans to stakeholders and leaders
  • Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements 

A typical day:

During your internship you’ll be integrated into a team where you’ll contribute to challenging projects. Your manager, team, and our incredible employee community will strive to be superhosts to you during the summer. We provide the support, mentorship, fun, and real world experience needed to accelerate your learning and make a real impact on our product, as Airbnb revolutionizes connection, belonging, and travel. You’ll be expected to:

  • Own and complete a capstone project from beginning to end
  • Collaborate with multiple team members to achieve project milestones
  • Communicate with stakeholders across different teams to provide project updates
  • Seek and provide feedback throughout the internship
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the Finance team and broader Airbnb community

Your expertise:

This opportunity is forpostgraduate students (graduating in Spring 2024 or 2025) with the following background:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, financial planning and analysis, corporate development, consulting, private equity, investment banking, or business operations
  • Strong organizational skills and process-oriented with the ability to define and execute projects with limited guidance and unclear scope
  • Experience forming strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders within and outside of finance
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively through both written and verbal formats up to the executive level (e.g. Chief Financial Officer, VP of Finance, Business Lead. etc.)
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to analyze complex data to distill insights and provide business recommendations
  • Experience with the following skills and tools: SQL, mathematical modeling, data analysis and visualization, Tableau
  • Demonstrated interest in high growth, technology, and/or hospitality companies
  • Work authorization for employment in the United Kingdom

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience in the following areas: product financial planning, actuarial and pricing analysis, technical accounting or CPA
  • Ability to conduct in-depth industry research and due diligence

Your location:

This position is hybrid and you must be living in London with work authorization in the UK - sponsorship and relocation is unavailable.
