Our payment network connectivity includes CHAPS, Open Banking, SEPA, SWIFT and account issuance in 11 currencies. We are principal issuing members of Visa and Mastercard across UK and Europe.
Our regulatory permissions and governance structure underpin our business. We are regulated and supervised as an Authorised Electronic Money Institution (AEMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank.
Our founding team has a wealth of experience in the payments industry and growing successful businesses. Modulr is backed by the venture arms of payments giants PayPal and FIS, as well as growth investors Blenheim Chalcot, General Atlantic, Frog Capital and Highland Europe.

The role: Strategic Partnership Manager – Business Payments (London)
Fixed 12-month contract
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strategic Partnership Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, an entrepreneurial eye for identifying opportunities and core business development skills that focus on delivering long term value for Modulr and its partners. The role has a broad remit across our partner network to significantly expand our footprint.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Development
- Continuously identify and evaluate partners that align to our strategic goals
- Develop and execute strategies to form valuable partnerships that align with the company's growth objectives and industry trends
- Negotiate and finalise partnership agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms
- Develop and manage a pipeline of prospective partnerships that enables management to track and monitor progress against KPI’s.
Ongoing Relationship Management and Networking
- Build and nurture relationships with new and existing partners to ensure ongoing collaboration and mutual benefit
- Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews with partners to assess the health and productivity of the relationship V the cost and ROI.
- Represent the company at in person and virtual industry partner events. This will include trade shows, roundtables, industry award shows and seminars.
- Develop and maintain internal relationships across sales, product, and marketing. Collaborating closely and ensuring alignment on objectives and broader team targets.
Marketing Collaboration
- Where investment is needed, prepare internal business cases for partner marketing investment and forecast ROI.
- Collaborate with Marketing to deliver monthly marketing campaigns across the partner eco-system.
- Manage an agreed set of K budget for partnership spend to ensure efficient and effective allocation to the most impactful campaigns and initiatives.
- Continue to build brand awareness by contributing to the execution of content, positioning the business as a thought leader
- Organise, execute, and participate in Modulr hosted events, webinars, video content to promote partnerships through multiple distribution channels and generate leads. Delivering a minimum of 1-2 webinars per month on key relevant topics
- Coordinate joint marketing events and campaigns internally and externally with partners to maximise reach and impact
Lead Generation and Growth
- Contribute to the overall performance goals of the business payments team.
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly targets.
- Secure, negotiate, and sign strategic referral agreements.
- Effectively and accurately report on performance of lead generation, quality of lead and close rate.
- Monitor the effectiveness of partnership-driven lead generation efforts.
- Prepare weekly updates on partnership performance, lead generation, and ROI for the Leadership team. Regularly evaluating the spend V performance actuals (live, transacting reoccurring revenue).
Market Research and Analysis
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to assess the size and dynamics of the ecosystem, ensuring deep integration and understanding of the sector, the trends, staying updated with regulatory changes and technological advancements.
- Collect and analyse data to continuously build and manage the partnership pipeline, understanding key influential communities/ stakeholders and contributing to the growth of the business payments ecosystem.
- Evaluate the competitive landscape to understand the market and to identify gaps or opportunities for strategic partnerships and product enhancements.
About you
The successful Strategic Partnership Manager will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to read a situation, listen, frame a conversation, and deliver presentation and insights
- Commercially minded with strong quantitative and analytical skills. You relish helping drive revenue and identifying growth opportunities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and competitive landscapes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
