You will partner with multiple teams and lead vendor negotiations for all IT, Product, and Engineering indirect spend categories. The focus for this role is to become a trusted partner to the business to improve spend under management, develop and standardize processes, and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies that achieve tangible value to the business. Partnering and working with Legal, Security, and IT, and other company partners, you will make recommendations on programs to reduce supplier costs, project manage contract development and approval processes. You will report to the Head of Strategic Sourcing and Operations.

The impact you will have:

  • Lead Technology sourcing strategies and correspondingly negotiate and redline contracts.
  • Work directly with the CIO and other senior leaders in developing and implementing a SaaS category strategy to meet company objectives.
  • Lead transformational activities to build Strategic Sourcing organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Prepare Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), evaluation of responses.
  • Lead evaluation, selection, development, and retention of the suppliers providing goods and services needed to conduct business.
  • Lead total cost of ownership analysis and cost modeling.
  • Support important partners and FP&A to meet budget goals.
  • Use current spend information and knowledge to identify potential cost reduction plans.
  • Provide reporting and strategic analysis on current/ future spend.
  • Improve supplier performance against negotiated service level agreements and quality metrics.

What we look for:

  • 5+ years in a strategic sourcing role for indirect categories of spend, particularly in SaaS sourcing.
  • Partner with suppliers, internal business customers, and senior management.
  • Experience delivering price optimization and cost savings.
  • Experience managing global procurement responsibilities, using a strategic sourcing methodology, including opportunity analysis and identification, supplier selection, risk and compliance evaluation, contract negotiation, and financial analysis.
  • Develop strategic sourcing plans and dive deep in contract details with an understanding of how contracts are structured.
  • Process and customer service inspired.
  • Experience with systems such as NetSuite and Coupa.

Pay Range Transparency

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. Zone 2 Pay Range$105,300—$186,300 USD
