Drawn from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines, our strategists interrogate data, research and insight to develop strategies and marketing solutions that have a measurable impact on our clients business.

We are currently seeking a Strategy Director for our Amsterdam team. You possess a brand and marketing background, love data and insight, and develop brand building experiences across channels and ecosystems.

As part of the AKQA team, you will work in an environment that fosters a dynamic and inclusive culture, enabled by our multi-disciplinary approach and supported by some of the brightest minds in their fields.

You will report to the Managing Director, Amsterdam and also benefit from leadership and support from the European Executive Strategy Director, based in Copenhagen.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute research to distil and design insight that drives forward creative solutions to solving the client's brief objectives.
  • Protect and deliver the vision of every project - you are responsible for aligning client objectives to the strategic imperatives for our work.
  • Develop strategies that detail tactics across the entire customer experience - you are the internal and external ally of effectiveness and performance.
  • Provide strategic direction for marketing impact - you understand the connection between brand, experience, business. 
  • Design brand architectures and strategies that create market differentiation - you are responsible for clarity and focus for our clients and their consumers.  
  • Translate strategic recommendations into actionable tactics campaigns, products and experiences.
  • Co-create closely with the creative team in developing beautiful work, that works - you make sure it works for our clients.
  • Identify key opportunities to drive client value, satisfaction and growth. 
  • Scope programs of work with clients, providing strategic direction and leadership
  • Partner to develop new research/methodologies/products to generate original insights
  • Write briefs that provide clarity for creativity and collaborate to refine, align and shape them into effective, performant solutions.
  • Lead the strategic offering across one or more key account programs
  • Motivate, inspire and collaborate with a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving
  • Be part of a strategy team that integrates brand, experience, business and product specialisations. 

 

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS 

  • 8+ years of experience, currently employed at an Associate Director level or Director level for 1-2 years. 
  • Devoted to work across digital, creative, communications, marketing and/or innovation environments. 
  • A passion for creativity, innovation, brand experiences, and brand strategy
  • A robust understanding of funnel marketing and how to drive creative solutions across each stage
  • Extensive experience in communications strategy, channel planning and content strategy
  • An impressive ability to turn research and data into effectiveness and performance
  • An understanding of how business, brands, and consumers interact, and how technology is impacting their lives
  • Familiarity with the design, application, and analysis of a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to inspire and persuade senior clients
