About the Role

The candidate will be a key contributor in the Strategy team, which sits at the core of the business and directly impacts the success of the company. The team’s mission is to help shape the company’s long term business strategy and ensure company priorities align. The candidate will be commercially minded, data & evidence driven, as well as proactive and capable of developing strong working relationships at all levels. The role is a great opportunity to work in a fast growing eCommerce business and will work directly with executives and leaders on complex, ambiguous and high visibility problems and opportunities.  The core responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Create clear and impactful presentation decks to effectively communicate strategic insights, analysis, and recommendations 

  • Take responsibility for planning and directing input into team strategy sessions, and into updates for the Tripadvisor board of directors, and Tripadvisor management

  • Developing commercial direction for the Experiences businesses; and translating strategy into business plans actionable by the functional teams. Project manage part of the implementation in key projects

  • Contribute to opportunity sizing, define key metrics for business performance, evaluate value creation potential, and deliver informed recommendations based on rigorous analysis."

  • Own and develop a competitive intelligence competency. Direct the analysis of data, and create actionable competitive insights used by functional teams to: better target marketing, prioritize product enhancements and improve supplier content.

  • Contribute to the maintenance of our M&A database and collaborate closely with the corporate development team to identify and pursue global acquisition opportunities for Experiences. 

What We’re looking For

  • 4+ years of professional experience preferably with at least 2 years of strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Ability to influence solutions without direct ownership 

  • Capable of managing complex commercial problems using data / evidence, driving high level goals into measurable plans 

  • Experience with SQL, analytics and metric visualization tools

  • Excel expertise with a proven track record 

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written – particularly in presentations

  • Analytical outlook, with experience in building and critiquing commercial models

  • Some exposure to the corporate M&A process preferable

The salary range for this role is $135,000 to $170,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
