Role: Studio Manager

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

 

About the role:

Reporting to the Global Head of Studio the Global Resource Manager is responsible for ensuring that projects are resourced in an accurate and timely manner. Overseeing remote satellite studios as well as leading a new studio of creatives and PM’s in Cape Town, analyzing skillsets to confirmed requirements to achieve high utilization across the team will be key. Key to the success for the role will be driving productivity by accurate resource allocation, overseeing studio teams, making real time assessments on capacity and team culture, and forming close working partnership with all department heads, client team structures & people’s personalities. Minimizing the use of freelancers through intelligent allocation of permanent resource as well as identifying when freelance requirements are essential and recruiting suitable candidates. 

  • Resource Planning and Allocation: Developing and maintaining resource plans based on campaign forecasts, ensuring that skills match confirmed requirements and minimizing the use of freelancers.
  • Pipeline Management: Reviewing production pipelines and volumes, planning resource across our teams of Integrated Project Managers and Creatives.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluating and optimizing resource management processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with global and regional teams to ensure smooth resource allocation and communication. 
What you will be doing:
  • Oversee design and production teams across on-site satellite teams.
  • Develop and maintain advanced pipeline resource plans.
  • Triage production and resource-related queries, providing timely solutions.
  • Escalate complex issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular meetings with regional producers.
  • Track resource utilization and costs.
  • Conduct real-time assessments of studio capacity.
  • Identify overburn across teams and flag accordingly.
  • Identify relevant skillsets for resource backfills.
  • Understand standard SLA timings across media channels.
  • Drive regional resource through MPC resourcing tool.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with account teams and project managers.
  • Promote proactivity and positive engagement within studio teams.
  • Work with channel leads to identify potential for automation. 
What you need to be great in this role:
  • Proven experience in resource management within a creative agency or similar environment.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Impact beyond the assignment
  • Strong experience in creative, print and digital production environment 
  • Experience of managing creative and production team 
  • Strong project management skills and highly detail-oriented and organised 
  • Strong team player and ability to influence 
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving and entrepreneurial environment 
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written communications
  • Proven traffic management experience
