SUPERVISOR, PRODUCTION (STARSHIP ELECTRONICS) 

We are looking for an experienced and talented leader to manage a team of technicians dedicated to supporting Avionics development and hardware sub-assemblies. The success of SpaceX depends on our ability to continuously innovate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and the Avionics Starship team provides the hands-on skills necessary to achieve that goal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage a staff of up to 15+ technicians and all performance management related tasks such as coaching, steering, and developing the team, while continuously improving labor efficiency and utilization
  • Collaborate with other production and engineering teams to develop and implement manufacturing cost reduction and efficiency improvement measures
  • Provide feedback to engineers on designs for manufacturability
  • Manage the team’s workload by balancing long term and emergency requests, managing schedules, providing timely/accurate status to engineers, and adding temporary and/or permanent headcount as needed to support demand
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the technical difficulty of the parts, assemblies, and individual tasks so that appropriately skilled technicians are assigned to the job
  • Identify training needs with the team, and develop training programs so that the team continually grows in technical proficiency
  • Monitor labor hours, overtime, and attendance to implement improvement plans where necessary

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing/testing environment
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience managing a team of technicians in a fast-paced environment
  • 1+ years of experience using electronics equipment (programmable power supplies, DMM’s, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Experience multitasking and working on multiple projects during a shift
  • Experience adapting to constantly changing work assignments and fast paced work environment
  • Experience with written/verbal communication and teamwork
  • Experience using Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with electrical test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
  • Experience with databases and data management
  • Knowledge of commercial and aerospace assembly standards
  • Experience being organized and detail oriented
  • Experience motivating others

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to travel – up to 10%

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:    

Pay range:    Supervisor: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year        Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
