About the role

As a Supply Planning & Procurement Manager you will join the Supply Chain team which is part of the broader Hardware team. You will strengthen supplier relationships to ensure reliable and timely delivery of materials.

You will be collaborating directly with the factories, suppliers and SumUp’s R&D team. Your objective will be to ensure reliable demand forecasts and timely order planning to support business needs with minimal inventory risks.

About the team

What you will do: 

  • Improve inventory management to reduce excess inventory and lower carrying costs.
  • Ensures reliable demand forecasts and timely order planning to support business needs with minimal inventory risks.
  • Manages purchase requests and orders efficiently to secure materials on time and within budget, especially for project-related needs.
  • Supports NPI(New Product Introduction) projects timelines by ensuring material availability and proactive risk mitigation in procurement stages.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and pricing, ensure cost -effectiveness and supply continuity
  • Source and qualify suppliers for raw materials and finished goods to meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable long-term partnerships and performance improvements
  • Maintains accurate procurement and planning data in systems, follows defined workflows, and drives process improvements.
  • Collaborates effectively with internal teams (e.g. sales, product, finance, project management) and external suppliers to align expectations and resolve issues promptly.

 You'll be great for this position if:

  • You understanding basic forecasting models and demand planning cycles.
  • You have hands-on experience managing purchase request and purchase orders, as well as sourcing qualified suppliers.
  • You are proficient in using ERP and MRP systems for planning and procurement.
  • You have experience negotiating favorable terms and pricing with suppliers.
  • You are a problem solver - you enjoy identifying issues and areas for improvement and define a clear plan on how to solve them.

Nice to haves:

  • You have experience with tools like Anaplan, SAP IBP, or other Demand Planning, etc.
  • You have experience in NPI (New Product Introduction )
  • You have familiarity with project tracking tools like Jira, Smartsheet or Notion.
  • You’ve experience with Data Visualization
