THE ROLE

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will accelerate the future of data storage by tackling high-stakes engineering challenges alongside industry veterans. You aren't here to shadow; you are here to build, owning a mission-critical project that directly impacts our product roadmap. By collaborating in an agile pair-programming environment, you will transform complex theoretical concepts into high-performance code that powers some of the world’s largest enterprises.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Architect and Implement Core Features: Own the end-to-end development of a technical project—from design to deployment—to enhance system reliability, performance, or scalability.
  • Optimize High-Performance Code: Write and refine production-level C++ code to solve bottlenecks within complex distributed systems or flash-management layers.
  • Collaborate and Peer Review: Partner with a fellow intern and senior mentors to conduct rigorous code reviews, ensuring all contributions meet our high standards for security and efficiency.
  • Drive Data-Informed Iteration: Test and validate your solutions using Python or Go-based automation frameworks to ensure your project delivers measurable improvements to the Pure ecosystem.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Technical Foundation: C++ and a comprehensive grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and systems programming.
  • Academic Progression: Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Computer Science or a related technical field, with a graduation date scheduled for 2027 and later. 
  • Execution and Ownership: The ability to navigate ambiguous technical problems and deliver high-quality, documented results within a 12-week project lifecycle.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Effective communication skills and the desire to solve problems within a transparent, team-oriented environment.
  • Location: We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from Prague office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
