Your mission

We are seeking an experienced Systems IVV Engineer to complement our RSN System Integration Verification and Validation Team. Reporting to the System IVV Manager, you will define, optimize and continuously improve the testing of the RSN system and its regular upgrades from the early stages of development until the end of the operational exploitation. To do so, you will work closely with your colleagues in the development and operations teams to establish an efficient and thorough IVV approach from element testing up to the end-to-end validation of system upgrades. RSN considers this an essential contribution to its philosophy of continuous innovation and improvement. In this position, your innovative ideas, system vision and attention to detail will make a difference.This includes:

  • Define the RSN System IVV approach, strategy and main tools. Liaise with the teams in charge of element development and system operations to optimise the testing with a clear focus on efficiency and thoroughness
  • Identify and define the System Test Cases / Use Cases, supervising their implementation and execution by the IVV Implementation team
  • You are further responsible towards the System IVV Manager for the overall completeness of the testing and analysis, against the System level requirements Process System test results and validate the completion of each System test. Liaise with RSN engineering team for identification of the needed analyses and later validate the results. Maintain the Verification Control Document
  • Optimize the relation/dependency with segment-level testing (e.g. with Space Segment, G/S, User Segment in particular). In coordination with RSN segments IVV engineers, follow, track and accept element and segment-levels verification (test, analysis, review of design, inspection). Ensure the consistent maintenance of segments Verification Control Documents. When needed, attend element and segment-level tests, at the supplier premises
  • Support the Operations Team in defining System Operational Validation scenarios and providing the needed tools and environments
  • Defines the priorities in System testing during time-critical development and for system upgrades during the 10-Years operational exploitation phase
  • Continuously improve the system IVV strategy, tools, methods with the aim to enable rapid evolution of a system providing high availability/high Security/Low latency services
  • Towards the IVV Manager, you are responsible to accurately track: 
    • the status and progress of the testing via meaningful coverage metrics 
    • the exact system configuration under test (supported by the Configuration Manager)
    • the status of open issues like Non-Conformances, needs for non-regression testing, needs for prioritisation of testing

What you bring on the table

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably aerospace engineering, Software engineering
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in the Integration, Verification and Validation testing of complex systems (Space Segment/Ground Segment/Services), ideally in the space-based communication business
  • A proven capability to comprehend and master the complexity at system level
  • Knowledge of space business or communication industry would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of agile SW development and test methodology would be an advantage
  • Excellent organizational skills, structured way of working combined with a pragmatic, result-oriented mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Conscientious and responsible, with a keen eye for detail without losing the big picture
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU
