Tripadvisor is recruiting a Systems & Analytics Lead within the Trust and Safety team. You will be responsible for providing fraud identification and reporting, responsible for the management of fraud rules within the fraud rules engine. This requires a mixture of decisioning system expertise and advanced analytical techniques, with a view to ultimately improve our fraud management efficiency and reduce error rates. This role is both hands-on in terms of fraud identification and high level in terms of managing the systems that help other stakeholders identify fraud.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Accountable for the management of global fraud decisioning systems upgrades/enhancements whilst ensuring user experience and fraud risk are not compromised.
  • Support the Trust & Safety team in the successful identification of the root causes of fraud.
  • Responsible for approval of global fraud rules to prevent repetition of fraud by the same method.
  • Ensure that the fraud rules engine remains productive and accurate, and work with the Trust & Safety team members to take appropriate action to rectify rule parameters when necessary. 
  • Act as subject matter expertise to stakeholders, engineering teams and third party partners in fraud decisioning.
  • Drive the adoption of the global fraud detection rules engine, using key performance metrics.
  • Responsible for Transparency and Regulatory data requirements.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of changing fraud trends, fraud decisioning systems and business needs to ensure fraud management is aligned to high level business goals
  • Keep up to date with the latest thinking, research and development, and industry best practice in the field of fraud management.
  • Responsible for identifying data and providing key metrics for regulatory requirements and requests and external transparency reporting. 
  • Establish metrics around business objectives and regularly report on performance and potential risks.
  • Work closely with global internal stakeholders and our investigation team, to build strong relationships and foster collaboration both locally and globally, demonstrating excellent presentation skills to enable complex analytics to be acted upon. 
  • Collaborate content operation teams on administration of rules in the system

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in managing fraud in the online environment in a global business.
  • Graduate in a numerical/scientific/computing discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL programming
  • Excellent knowledge of Snowflake and Tableau 
  • Strong understanding of online fraud threats
  • Experienced in implementing fraud systems
  • Experienced in driving analytical projects
  • Exceptionally report on and be able to interpret large data sets
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and influencing skills
  • Innovative with excellent problem solving skills
  • Advanced analytical and numerical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment
