Role summary

As a key member of the Corporate Finance team, the Tax Manager has global exposure to tax and financial reporting, as well as specific business lines and products. Due to our business model and growing global footprint, Payoneer is subject to a multitude of tax considerations outside of standard financial reporting and compliance. Such issues include but are not limited to: digital services taxes, permanent establishment considerations, CbCR & Pillar II reporting requirements, complex ASC 740 tax matters, etc. We are looking for a candidate with 4-5+ years of experience in US tax accounting, with a strong understanding of the application of ASC 740 to a multinational organization. The ideal candidate will also be a team-player, eager and able to assist with matters beyond the tax provision. The Tax Manager will report to the Tax Director, manage other tax team members, and work closely with the senior leadership of the organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and execute the quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 18, including assisting with the tax-related disclosures in SEC filings and financial statements
  • Prepare and review income tax calculations, including current and deferred tax positions
  • Partner with external auditors on provision-related inquiries and tax account audits
  • Collaborate with and support controllers around the globe on local non-US tax provision and tax compliance issues
  • Work with the Tax Director to identify tax planning opportunities to optimize the Company’s effective tax rate and/or cash tax outlay
  • Identify, research, and document technical tax accounting positions
  • Monitor and analyze tax legislation developments affecting the tax provision
  • Support external advisors with the preparation of the annual domestic tax returns
  • On an ongoing basis, review and update the company’s transfer pricing policies and manage withholding tax issues
  • Assist in managing the company’s domestic and international tax activities and strategy from planning to execution, including research and working with outside advisors as necessary
  • Build relationships and understanding within the business to support compliance and minimize risk
  • Provide tax-related input on various business processes and products, helping to solve complex business issues
  • Engage with regulatory authorities as needed

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting, “Big 4” and top national firms; 4+ years specialized experience in ASC 740 tax accounting
  • Ability to understand the business environment and apply the relevant tax principles, using practical methods to support the business owners’ needs and be able to clearly articulate those methods to relevant stakeholders
  • Creative thinking and out of the box solutions for complicated processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA, Bar License or other similar certification preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently collaborate with international leadership and process owners, and manage relationships with external advisors
  • Reliable, trustworthy, high level of integrity with strong service orientation

 In accordance with New York City Law, below is the annual base salary range for this position. Actual annual base salary is based on, but not limited to: experience, education, professional licenses, location and business needs. The position is eligible for health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, 401k plan, paid-time off, and sick (and where applicable safe) leave. This position is also eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.  The annual base salary range for this position is: $120,000-$150,000
