Tech Support Engineer
Location: Hybrid role - office based in Galway (minimum 3 days per week)

Tech Support Engineer- Keep our teams moving, by empowering users, maximizing tool usage, and minimizing downtime.
Working within our talented EU IT Support team, you will play a crucial role in handling and resolving complex issues (product functionality, architecture, and defect correction), Improving proficiency across our expansive internal software toolset and both swiftly & seamlessly transitioning issues to Infrastructure and Software engineering teams..
Whilst tackling a wide range of technical challenges, you’ll support our employees both on-site and remotely, and collaborate globally with teams in Boston, London, and Bengaluru.

What you will do
- Provide first-level support to Wayfair employees for all IT-related concerns and technologies such as Windows and Mac devices and Google Workspace, Genesys VOIP, Intune, and our own proprietary software.
- Manage assets by deploying, configuring, and maintaining equipment throughout the life cycle.
- Prepare and deploy hardware for staff onsite in Galway and remote across Ireland and the United Kingdom.
- Reclaim hardware from departing users.
- Assist new members of the company in their first days in the company, providing their hardware and setting up their working environment.
- Support conference room equipment and prepare rooms for teams, vendors, and company-wide events.
- Troubleshoot and support our Ethernet networks (LAN/WAN) and VPN connectivity.
- Monitor, prioritize, field and keep track of various incoming emails, phone calls, chat messages, walkups and alerts via our ticketing system.
- Help seek out and implement ways to make Wayfair Systems and Processes more efficient.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience successfully operating within an IT Helpdesk, Tech support, First Line/ Second Line and/ or IT Service Engineer function.
- To be qualified with CompTIA, ITIL, or a comparable certification/ educational degree.
- Knowledge of managing IT ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and Jira.
- Effective communication skills, someone who delivers clear & patient guidance tailored to each user’s technical capability
- To display a passion and capability for delivering an exceptional customer experience across multiple channels, including phone, email, Slack, and in-person interactions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the strength to think analytically while working under pressure and within a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability in working both independently & collaborating within teams to achieve project and business goals.
