Position Description:

Customer Identity Access Management(CIAM) solution provides Okta customers the ability to secure their consumer identities and deliver frictionless, seamless new digital experiences. In this role, you will be tasked with providing hands-on implementation and deployment services to our customers. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and engaged leader who can rapidly learn the Okta CIC platform, our technology and the value proposition that we bring to customers of all sizes. You will lead multiple concurrent customer deployment projects with the number one goal to ensure long-term customer success. Additionally you will engage with the full Customer Success team in order to assure a smooth transition post-deployment to the support/maintenance phases. Finally, you will also be expected to contribute to continuous improvement of delivery processes and methods.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead implementation for Okta CIC deployment projects in a post-sales role, to provide innovative consulting services. 
  • Identify and evaluate business and technology risks and management processes
  • Communicate to customers and partners at the technical and/or functional level appropriate for the situation.
  • Mentor and train customers on the Okta CIC service
  • Perform hands-on technical design, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Okta CIC Identity service and integrations for customers. 
  • Manage multiple, concurrent deployment projects including scopes, schedules, statuses, and documentation.
  • Apply knowledge of technologies and protocols to support identity federation and robust access control models, such as SAML 2.0, WS-Federation, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
  • Utilize knowledge of typical enterprise identity lifecycle management processes and standards.
  • Adapt to learn new technologies - both Okta and industry/external
  • Use your experience with consumer applications in the cloud to solve the identity and access management problems at scale for Okta customers.
  • Apply software development experience (Java, Ruby, .Net, PHP, REST/JSON, etc) when working with customers.
  • Apply experience with JavaScript and one of the major JavaScript MVC frameworks (Backbone, Angular, React, etc.) when working on customer integrations.
  • Up to 50% potential travel required to customer sites. 

Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2+ years experience as a technical consultant delivering solutions to external customers.
  • Knowledge of typical enterprise identity life cycle management processes and standards.
  • 2+ years experience in designing and implementing identity management solutions to support critical systems and business programs.
  • Expertise in technologies and protocols to support identity federation and robust access control models (e.g., SAML 2.0, WS-Federation, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Software development experience (Java, Ruby, .Net, PHP, REST/JSON, etc).
  • Proficiency with various open-source software and development tools
  • Knowledge of enterprise web technologies, security and cutting-edge infrastructures
  • General knowledge of cloud architectures as well as complex enterprise on-premise IT landscapes.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage multiple customer engagements.
  • Experience in process improvement, decision-making, managing processes, planning, analyzing information and developing standards.

Highly Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Software development experience (Java, Ruby, .Net, PHP, REST/JSON, JavaScript, Angular, React, C#)
  • Familiarity with API driven service architecture and API management using Mulesoft, Apigee, etc.
  • AD and/or LDAP experience
  • Knowledge of mobile application development technologies
  • Okta expertise, experience, and certifications

  • Superb communication skills, including issue tracking, triaging and crisis management.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers and all levels of management.
  • Can effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Delivers informative, well-organized presentations.

Education and Certification:

A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline required.

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual OTE range for this position for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:$146,000—$218,000 USD The OTE range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:$163,000—$245,000 USD
