Appian is seeking an Engineering Analyst, reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, who will be the information and activity hub for keeping the engineering team functioning. This includes helping us adapt to our growth by designing new processes and systems that keep friction out of the engineering department.

This role is based at Appian's Headquarters in McLean, VA. Employees hired for this position will have the opportunity to work in a flexible, hybrid environment. If you are not already located in the surrounding McLean, VA area, your willingness to relocate will be a contingency for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive support to the EVP, Engineering Department and other engineering leaders while maintaining confidentiality. 
  • Summarizing and synthesizing key decisions in writing and communicating them out to relevant stakeholders. 
  • Manage strategic projects to completion. Projects that often include both a business and technical focus and require leveraging many people throughout Appian. 
  • Take the lead in organizing and running key departmental meetings and major events including rooms, calendar events, meeting agenda, AV coordination, etc. 
  • Partner with our Engineering governing bodies including Onboarding Committee, Strategy Council, People Council, etc. 
  • Support processes and tools to accommodate rapid growth of the department. 
  • Maintain key documents, calendars and systems that keep the engineering department running smoothly. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Google Docs, Sheets; Google Hangout and Meet)
  • Strong project management and organization skills 
  • Experience as an Executive Assistant or Operations Specialist preferred
