We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to partner with the GDI team to drive our technical roadmap, and collaboration with our key pillars.
The roleAs GDI’s first TPgM, you will bring a blend of technical and programmatic expertise to drive GDI’s portfolio forward. You’ll need to apply program & portfolio management methodologies to multiple initiatives, balancing progress and risk to deliver sustainable change to meet objectives. You will be adept at navigating through ambiguity, partnering with GDI team members to guide and enable teams to be both highly creative and collaborative.
Key responsibilities:- Manage GDI’s technical roadmap in partnership with engineering leaders, including Frontiers;
- Partner with Senior PgM to provide strategic portfolio management services to GDI, working with leads to continually translate and develop the evolving GDI roadmap;
- Manage intake and onboarding of new experiences onto Frontiers, and coordinate prioritization and roadmap;
- End to end program planning and delivery across GDI pillars, utilising technical knowledge of project methodologies;
- Facilitate conversations, meetings and opportunities for collaboration to drive the best outcomes, ensuring you bring clarity where ambiguity exists;
- Track progress, maintain up to date information and relevant documentation and anticipate and propose solutions to issues and risks and share critical information with key partners;
- Evaluate the success of programs against their aims, goals and objectives, and share lessons and insight across the wider business;
- Partner with Analytics team in design and operation of analytics & metrics across engineering programs;
- Manage technical aspects of external partnerships, beyond compute, and coordinate & support trusted tester programs;
- Oversee on-call rotas and assist in development of playbooks;
- Advise on the associated release processes, inc legal, privacy and data requirements;
- Overseeing open-sourcing, data, and other technical releases;
- Support compute management and allocation for internal compute resources;
- Manage technical on-boarding on 20%-ers and TVCs, i.e. group management & best practices
- Conduct regular retrospectives on successes and failures and provide independent analysis
- Previous experience working on technical programs or portfolios
- Knowledge or release management processes and SRE programs
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in portfolio & program management, with the proven skill to navigate through ambiguity and adjust and adapt plans and strategies as project conditions change
- Experience in solving challenging operational challenges, implementing scalable and sustainable solutions, bringing simplicity to complex process and ideas
- Strong communication skills, ability to develop meaningful relationships with key partners and use this to influence outcomes
- You are proactive about acquiring knowledge to enhance the impact you have, demonstrate a curious attitude, and a commitment to learning and understanding more about work within GDI
- You are demonstrably passionate about advancing AI, proactive about learning and acquiring knowledge to enhance your domain knowledge
