Test Engineer, In-Vehicle Testing - SDS Trucking
We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.
About the roleWe are looking for a System Test Engineer, In-Vehicle Testing with automotive background in ADAS and/or autonomous driving to lead testing efforts for autonomous ground vehicles. Among your responsibilities will be creating and executing test plans of autonomy. Your testing work will cover both on-vehicle testing using hardware owned by Applied or our customers and in-simulation testing using Applied’s software. Your work will be critical to enable our development of a production-ready autonomy software
At Applied Intuition, you will:- Create V&V plans based on product requirements to thoroughly test autonomy software on-vehicle and in simulation
- Create and maintain system level tests as part of development, routine system assessments and continuous integration
- Champion on-vehicle requirements verification and execution, providing feedback to systems engineering and supporting traceability of requirements to test
- Work closely with engineers to determine how to test different parts of the autonomy stack, excite challenging conditions and report back test failures
- Organize and execute field testing to test autonomy software on-vehicle in various environments
- 5+ years of experience with creating and executing vehicle-level test plans
- Comfortable with both hardware and software debugging
- Passion for bringing a complex system of software and hardware components to a production-ready state
- A collaborative mindset and deep interest in understanding the functionality of autonomy software
- Previous experience in testing at an autonomous vehicle company
- Previous experience testing large vehicles in defense, mining, construction, or agriculture
- Previous experience working with robotic actors
- Previous experience planning test campaigns
- Scripting skills in a coding language – not just executing tests, but building the test and performing data analysis for data insights
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
Please reference the job posting’s subtitle for where this position will be located. For pay transparency purposes, the base salary range for this full-time position in the location listed is: $110,000 - $220,000 USD annually.
