MongoDB is looking for a Thought Leadership Content, Lead to join our Global Corporate Marketing team. In this role, you'll develop, edit, and manage content programs that elevate the company’s influence among the C-suite and IT decision makers (ITDMs) globally. The right candidate will be able to create executive-level content that showcases the breadth and depth of our developer data platform and the success it provides to our tens of thousands of customers. The right candidate will be able to work closely with MongoDB leaders and customer-facing teams to develop content as well as uncover impactful use cases that help drive long-term customer success.
We are looking for a marketing communications professional with extensive experience writing and managing thought leadership content for leading technology businesses, including planning, strategy, and execution of creating messaging frameworks for white papers, blog posts, case studies, customer stories, op-eds, and paid media. The right candidate has a successful track record of working across businesses to drive effective content programs and has experience working directly with senior executives. This candidate must be able to analyze and synthesize highly technical use cases to create content and messaging that is compelling and easily digestible. The candidate should also have experience interviewing senior executives and technical leaders internally and externally. We are looking for a leader who can raise the bar by thinking big, being creative, and developing new ways to influence target audiences. We are also looking for someone with experience helping others improve their written communications skills.
This role will report to the Director of Public Relations and can be based out of our Seattle or New York offices with hybrid and remote options available. Occasional travel will be required.
Position Expectations:- With little to no oversight, conceive, source, and write thought leadership content for companywide use
- Serve as a trusted editorial resource to teams across MongoDB, offering both high-level strategic feedback and review of internal and external content
- Work with regional teams globally to localize content
- Establish and ensure consistent MongoDB editorial content quality
- Create, launch, and manage a MongoDB writing program for employees globally
- Develop and roll out new messaging frameworks to influence executives
- Build deep relationships and drive alignment with teams that will participate in content creation—Executives, Executive Assistants, Account Teams, Customer Success, Partner Ecosystem, Marketing
- Collaborate with other programs that leverage MongoDB leaders to identify opportunities for content
- Define strategy, process, and metrics, and execute plans to automate supporting processes and measurement tools
- Understand and communicate results and drive continuous improvement for content by using quantitative data combined with qualitative feedback from customers and executives
- 10+ years of experience working in communications with experience at leading technology companies and/or high-growth SaaS, enterprise software, or cloud computing providers
- Ability to engage at all levels of MongoDB and customer organizations (including C-level) with confidence and poise
- Excellent verbal and written communication, receptive listening skills, and ability to create and repurpose content for different audiences (Executives, ITDMs, line of business owners, builders, etc.).
- Experience working with Sales and Customer Success organizations
- High judgment and standards with the ability to consistently deliver results
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Team player able to work with virtual and global cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment with shifting priorities as organizational needs evolve
- Able to operate in environments with high ambiguity and strong interpersonal skills

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.
MongoDB’s base salary range for this role in the U.S. is:$101,000—$198,000 USD
