We are looking for a passionate trader to join Jump’s centralized trading team in Sydney. This leads to extensive collaboration across many departments at Jump including, but not limited to, the trading teams themselves. You will develop the skills to fine-tune algorithmic strategies on-the-fly, manage risk, and debug challenging infrastructure issues. If you are eager to enter the trading world, this is a golden opportunity for an experienced trader, who can leverage their skills into a role that will have a bottom-line impact on a global level.
What you'll do:• Manage trading strategies daily and provide an impact in terms of discretionary sizing and tweaking of parameters• Develop a granular understanding of trading strategies, interweaving alpha, execution, and technology• Provide analytical support to the trading community regarding the global markets and trading team performance• Serve as an advisor across several different departments, providing new and innovative solutions for the complex problems we face• Develop an extensive understanding of latency and its impact on strategy performance• Enhance our use of available internal data, all with the aim of increasing performance and remaining best-in-class as an organization
Skills you'll need:• Proven success working with automated trading systems at a proprietary electronic trading firm• Global market knowledge is strongly desired• Strong understanding of market microstructure, as well as an understanding of wider macro factors driving markets• Ability to perform under pressure• Confidence, accountability, decisiveness• Inquisitive, self-starting personality coupled with the desire to be part of a highly functioning team environment• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Bonus Points:• Scripting language (e.g., Python or R)• Networking nomenclature and architecture• Shell scripting (ksh or bash)
